Construction Ahead

We are lucky to have not had any houses behind us for the last year. The foundations were laid when we moved in, but since the market is not exactly great for new home builders, the lots have just sat for the last year. It's been nice not to have anyone behind us, especially because the homes in our neighborhood are so close together. I love opening the blinds in the morning and having the light fill our master bedroom and not having to worry about anyone seeing in.

Yesterday, everything changed. They decided to start building and build they did! They put the framing up yesterday, and they started pounding away before 7 am this morning. I was not a happy camper. It is one thing when my kids wake me up before 7 am, but to be awakened by someone else when my children were STILL sleeping was not pleasant. I immediately thought I needed to call in a noise violation to someone.I just didn't know who. I even imagined myself yelling for them to stop out the window. The other thing that is hard for me to swallow is having strange men 20 feet away from our bedroom window. The houses behind us are set up above us, so the main floor sits at the level of our second floor. When I open up the blinds, there they were pounding away. I have been known to dash out of my bathroom before a shower in my buck nakedness to break up a fight or grab something with the blinds wide open. I guess those days are over- I'm not interested in giving the builders their own personal show.

This is taken from our bedroom window.

Jack finished up his Wiggles and Giggles class this week. They sang songs, played instruments and learned some tumbling moves. He was one of only two boys in the class, but he still enjoyed himself. The teacher commented to me that "Jack really is 100% boy!" Hmm...I wonder how she figured that out? Could it be that he has double the energy of every child in the class? Or maybe because he has to run every time she instructed them to walk/march around the room?
Or maybe because he has to make any and all objects into some sort of weapon? I don't know how she figured it out. :)

We've been experimenting with Lindsey's hair recently. She's getting some curl in it, which makes it look like a rat's nest half the time. She'll leave the rubberbands in for a bit, and then she'll take them out and hide them somewhere in the house. Her hair stays in the same position as when she had the rubberbands in though. She does have some great volume, I have to admit.

That sounds awful with the construction. Good luck with that.

That picture of Lindsey is gorgeous. She has really grown up.

Ick. I'd hate that construction too. Especially when it's interupting sleep!!! That's such a valuable thing when you're a mommy! Jack truly is a boy. No doubt! That's a good thing though. I'd rather have that then a girl guy. And Lindsey's hair is getting so long. It's fun to be able to do things with your girl's hair :)

that stinks about the construction. Lindsey's hair is so cute. Hey can you send me your address? I can't seem to keep track of it for some reason. Miss you
