A Day with the Firefighters

We attended Fire Dept Day at the Museum of Flight last Friday with some friends. It was a perfect day: 10+ emergency vehicles to climb around in, planes taking off and landing right in front of us, SUNSHINE, Mt. Ranier in the distance and free burritos from Chiptole. We had a great time!!

"Jack, Jack can you please look at mommy and the camera?!?"

Jack in heaven. He loves anything to do with fire trucks and firefighters.

Updates

It feels good to be able to post again! Our computer contracted a virus 2 weeks ago and crashed, so we have been without a working computer and internet for a while. I never realized how much I relied on our computer until we didn't have one!! We are using an old dinosaur (as Jack refers to it) until we can figure out what to do or fix our old computer. Here are a few highlights of our last 2 weeks: Lindsey FINALLY started walking right on the day she hit 17 months. I am not missing the scooting- she has holes in practically all of her pants because she wore through them. She also yells and shrieks all the time. Everyone who hears her comments that she has "found her voice." Um, she has done more than found her voice...she is flaunting her loud voice! My favorite time of day is when Lindsey starts "talking" at dinner and Jack gets mad and tells her to stop yelling by yelling himself. The two go at it for a while and I am deaf by the end of dinner.

I trained our summer camp instructors last weekend. It was a long weekend, but it was nice to use my brain for a few days. Clint had a good time with the kids and was much more appreciate of all that I do when I returned home!

On Saturday we went to the zoo. Lindsey loved walking around on her own, Jack loved the new flamingo exhibit, and Clint & I were entertained by the mating sloth bears.

Sunday was probably our hardest Sunday yet. The kids were wild and crazy (1:00 church is NOT my favorite!). Lindsey won't sit at all, so we spend the 2nd and 3rd hour walking around. 2 more weeks until nursery and then we will be breaking up fights between our 2 children in nursery (yes, they will both be in the same nursery for 6 months). We had dinner at my parents which was fun. We survived flinging food, several melt downs, an "accident" which explains Jack's unfortunate outfit in the following picture, and general chaos. I don't know why Sundays are so rough for us;I'm just glad we survived another one. Poor Clint commented that he thinks he is being cursed for only wanting 2 children. :)

OHIO!

We had the wonderful opportunity to visit Clint's brother, Tim and his family in Cleveland, Ohio last weekend. We traveled back with his sister, Cindy, and her family and had a great time! The kids did pretty well on the plane rides, considering they were 4 hours each. The highlights were: Clint and I sneaking away to Cedar Point Amusement Park for the day without kids, Jack playing in the quiet couldesac with his cousins, the kids sleeping like champs every night, visiting Kirtland, enjoying being with family! After visiting with Tim, Amy and their three boys for Memorial Day, we headed down south to Dayton, Ohio to visit our good friends, Jeremy and Adrienne, and their cute twin boys. We had a fabulous time playing games, eating yummy gelatis and watching the kiddos play. We flew home last Thursday and are slowly returning to the humdrum of our normal everyday lives. :)

Getting ready for the big flight! We had some time to watch the planes land and take off and to play in the kid play area before boarding the plane. The luggage was ridiculus: 3 huge suitcases, 2 huge backpacks full of food and toys, a stroller, DVD player, carseat and 2 kids. Whew! Highlight of the plane ride: Jack yelling out as we landed "Yea! That was fun!"

Cedar Point was awesome! We spent 11 hours riding as many rides as we could. Our favorite: the Dragster. A 17 second ride where you are going 120 mph. It was the most intense 17 seconds of my life.

Hanging out at the park. Trying to get a decent family shot is a joke these days!

The three cousins in front of the Kirtland temple.

We enjoyed dinner out with the adults one evening. We had yummy Latin American food.

The 3 hour trip to Dayton: it was almost like a date for us!

We spent a morning at the Boonshoft museum in Dayton. The kids had a great time checking out the animals, climbing in the tree house and playing in the jail.

Adrienne and I with our babies. Lindsey and Jordan and Matthew are 3 weeks apart.
