Our Week

<
Last Saturday, we participated in a Walk-a-thon for my friend, Heather, who passed away in January from Cystic Fibrosis. Clint and I ran about 3.5 miles, Lindsey rode happily in the jogger, and Jack had a ball running around with his friend Prestin. He probably ran 2 miles. He also got to go up in the box and talk on the loud speaker. I was walking to the car when I heard this little voice say "Hi Mommy" over the loud speaker. It was too cute!

Cooldown lap. Lindsey Lou is skipping in the pink/white shirt.

Before....

After (Don't worry, everyone is laughing):)

Annual Firefighter Day at the Museum of Flight. Jack loved it and Lindsey spent the whole time asking if it was time to go home yet.

Jack and the paramedic having a heart to heart. :)

And the biggest excitement around here.... those cute little buns are no longer wearing diapers. Lindsey has pretty much potty trained herself over the last few weeks. It was such a different experience from potty training her stubborn older brother! Can I just say how nice it is not to have anyone in diapers? Well, excluding Clint who still wears Goodnites. :)

5 days in Paradise

Clint and I had the oppotunity to take a little getaway to Palm Springs last week. We left the kiddos with Clint's parents, my parents and Clint's sister (so no one got too overwhelmed :)). We headed out Wednesday evening and after nearly missing our plane due to a gate change (we were literally the last ones on the plane), we were finally able to relax. We stayed the night with my grandpa in Pasadena and then headed to the desert for some sun and relaxation.

My grandpa and I.

We checked out some cacti at the Moorten Botanica Gardens.

We stayed in a Marriott villa right on a golf course. The resort had 7 pools, tennis courts, walking trails, etc. It was a great place to stay!

We went to the Living Desert Zoo and fed some giraffes! We saw all sorts of desert animals and nearly died from the heat. We had to rehydrate with some Sonic smoothies afterwards.

We spent lots of time at the pool trying to tan our white thighs. Yikes! I think we came home with a little bit of color. :)

We rode the aerial tramway to the top of Mt. San Jancinto (8500 feet). It was 35 degrees cooler at the top, so we did a little hiking and enjoyed the views of the desert floor. The tramway ride was cool- the platform rotated 360 degrees around as we traveled up the mountain.

We loved our nighttime routine- dinner somewhere yummy, a long walk around the hotel grounds to burn off our yummy dinner :), and a movie from redbox. And then, going to bed late and sleeping in late the next morning. Needless to say, it was a shock to return to reality. Our goal is to figure out how to get away like this more often!

Of course, these cute kids and 85 degree weather made the return to reality a bit easier.
