Fleeting dreams....

Goodbye new house

Goodbye new car for Clint

Goodbye trip to Mexico (just the two of us)

Goodbye sending Jack to preschool

Goodbye full time nanny for Lindsey (hee hee)

Hello pay cut for Clint.

Blast that economy.

Playing Outside!

We had a nice stretch of weather for the past 10 days and we tried to spend as much time outdoors as we could. The rain started again yesterday and we were sad to see it return.

A college roommate came to the Seattle area to visit with her husband and cute boys. We met them, along with another college roommate and her family, for a fun morning at the Locks and then hit up Dicks for lunch. We chatted while the kids played in the parking lot (it was a wonder no one was hit :))and the van.

Logan, Ellie and Jack checking out the boats.

Lindsey checking out baby Porter. She has this fascination with babies recently. She has to touch every part of them and point every feature out. Then she usually tries to hit them. I don't think she is quite ready for a younger sibling yet. :)

Courtney and I. We lived in Helaman Halls at BYU our freshman year and had a great year!

The kiddos. You've got to love Lindsey's coat. My mother in law got it for her and she always insists on wearing it. We can barely buckle her in her car seat and then she sits there and can barely move her limbs.

We headed to the zoo on President's day with Clint. It was crowded and chilly, but we still ended up having a good time.

I'm Back!

Ugh!! What a crummy last few weeks! Lindsey passed her lovely stomach virus onto Clint and I after Jack's party last week. I was lucky and only suffered for 4 agonizing hours, but Clint suffered for 36. Jack was lucky and stayed well through it all. Lindsey felt better after getting us sick, but then got re-infected somehow. She was the sickest I have ever seen her for most of the week. She just laid around with a sad look on her face. To be honest, I kind of enjoyed having her be so chill. I felt bad she was sick, but she didn't scream, hit or throw food for a week. It was pretty much heaven on earth. She stopped throwing up on Saturday and then a weird ooze started coming out of her ear (ooh, sorry this is kind of graphic :)). I'm thinking it is a ruptured ear drum, but we haven't been in yet to see for sure. Of course it happened right after we brought her into the doctor on Friday and they said her ears were fine. Go figure.
I'm hoping we have paid our time being sick for the year.
Jack's funny quote of the week (as he is playing doctor to Clint): "Daddy, I feeled you better."
Lindsey's quote of the week: "suck, suck". I gave in and let her have her binky for the entire week.
Clint's quote of the week: " Oh no! I just shared ice cream with my mom and sister." (after returning home from the hospital after his dad had emergency surgery to remove a bloodclot and getting sick almost immediately. Luckily, his mom and sister didn't get sick)
Kacey's quote of the week: " I am so thankful I don't get sick when I am pregnant. I think I would die." Kudos to all of you who survive sickness during pregnancy. You are amazing. If I got sick with Jack, I would have been done with one.

Birthday Boys!

Ugh... So I should NOT have written about me not getting sick on my last post. This week the illness found me. I didn't get as sick as Clint, but I still was not feeling well for most of the week. And it was a busy week with the Boys' birthdays and getting ready for Jack's party on Saturday. I survived the week and pulled the party off, but I am home from church with Lindsey today because she has the stomach flu. I think I've had enough runny noses, sore throats, coughs and vomit to last me at least a few years. :)

But, onto the fun stuff... Jack and Clint celebrated their birthdays on Weds, Jan. 28. We started off the birthday week with a family party with my parents and Chad last Sunday. We had a yummy dinner and chocolate silk pie and opened presents.

Jack pretending to eat a "sandwich" he made from a new game.

On Wednesday, Clint took the day off so they could spend lots of fun time together. They spent the morning at the Bouncy Place (an indoor inflatable playground) and then had lunch at McDonalds. Following lunch, they saw Madagascar 2 at the $3 theater by our house. That evening, we had pizza for dinner and went out for ice cream at Coldstone. It was a busy, fun day. Clint kind of gets the schaft when it comes to birthdays as it all revolves around the now 4 year old, but we did make it out to dinner on Friday night to celebrate.

Saturday was the big PIRATE PARTY! Jack was so excited and wouldn't accept the fact that he was really 4 until after his birthday party. This was the first "real" birthday party I have thrown for him, so I wanted to make it extra special. He invited 4 mateys and we spent a lot of time getting everything ready. We read pirate books, played pin the X on the treasure, searched for a tick tock clock, went on a treasure hunt, and decorated treasure chests. We had hot dogs, pirate's booty, goldfish and grapes for lunch and finished the meal off with a pirate ship cake. I think everyone had a swashbuckling time!
