Fun in the (empty) pool

My sweet little angel sitting in the pool. Yes, she is now sitting up!! She is rolling around, sitting, eating solids, etc. She is growing up way too fast!! She is still a petite little thing weighing in at less than 15 pounds (Jack was 20 at this age). She has a bit of separation anxiety going on right now, but she is a very happy, smiley baby who loves to be in on the action with her big brother.

The two crazy kids in the swimming pool. Jack is a super big brother and enjoys making his sister laugh and squeal in delight. They love to hang out together.

Summer Days

Beach trip!! We went to a little island off the coast for a day of sun and sand. We worried how little man Jack was going to behave, but he actually did great! He loved to sit in the sand and eat it. So, Clint and I played frisbee and ran around while Jack sat and ate sand. We had a wonderful day.

We have very sweaty kids. Jack gets these little beads of sweat on his nose whenever he runs around and his hair is always wet with sweat. So, we decided to cool him off a bit and shave his head. He sat very still and he even let us take a shot of him with a mohawk. Unfortunately, we can't do a lot for Lindsey...she just spends a lot of time in a onesie. Poor, sweaty girl.

The new soccer goal! I bought the goal about a month ago at Target and was waiting to give it to Jack when he finally gave up his binky (he still sleeps with it). Well, we quickly found out that he was definitely not ready to give it up. So, then we decided to use it as an incentive for going poop on the big boy potty. He went once on July 1 (I know this because I made a chart for the fridge) and he hasn't sat on the potty since. Well, since summer in Seattle isn't going to last much longer, I brought it out yesterday just for the heck of it. So, he won. He has the goal, the binky and mommy changing his diaper. Oh, the things we do for our children.

Portland

For our anniverary/my birthday, we decided to head to Portland for the weekend. Originally, Clint and I were going to try to get away by ourselves, but Lindsey hasn't been taking a bottle recently. So, I thought that having the whole family together for my birthday in Portland would be fun- a little swimming, a trip to the zoo, etc. Um....big mistake. Jack was a pretty big pill the whole weekend and we tossed around the idea of sending him back to my parents on the train. This is a pic before we left and the chaos began.

Clint and Jack at the Oregon Zoo. The zoo was absolutely fabulous!! We even got to see an elephant paint- very cool! We gave our new sit 'n stand stroller its trial run (of course Jack didn't want to ride after we bought this whopping stroller).

Jack and Lindsey on the riverfront. This was before we bought the double stroller, so we each got to push a stroller. The weather was warm and sunny- a perfect afternoon.

Fourth of July!

Lindsey chilled in the stroller and enjoyed watching all the kids on bikes. Later, she LOVED the fireworks (Jack, on the other hand, stayed in the house with Grandma!)

New biker on the loose! Jack learned to pedal the day before the big Fourth of July parade. He was so intent on pedaling that he forgot about steering most of the time. He had a lot of collisions, but a lot of fun! His bike won "Most Creative".

A typical day.....

"Mom, look at me!" Jack giving Lindsey's exersaucer a spin. He played for a minute, but then discovered he was stuck.

Lindsey's first go with solids. She loved the bowl of rice cereal I fed her! She especially enjoyed feeding herself with the spoon. I hope we have a good eater on our hands!

"There were two in the crib....." Due to space issues, Lindsey is still sleeping in the basinet and Jack in the crib. We hope to move them up to their respective beds before too long! They like hanging out in the crib together for the time being.
